Participating virtually in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the Cuban head of government highlighted the strengths and opportunities for development of these ties in sectors such as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, food production and industry in general.
He thanked all full members of the Eurasian Union and its observer states for their displays of support and solidarity, especially during the last period, which he said has been especially complex for Cuba.
He noted that the strengthening of ties with Belarus and Armenia, as well as the participation of a large delegation of Cuban businessmen in a panel on Cuba in the context of the III Eurasian Economic Forum, confirm the synergies that are being created in the business environment.
Cuba will continue its process of effective insertion into the Eurasian Union this year, based on a more dynamic and multisectoral exchange with its member and observer states, he noted.
Marrero said that 2025 is a year of special significance for Cuba, because next December marks the fifth anniversary of its incorporation into this prestigious organization as an Observer country.
In this sense, he reaffirmed his nation’s will to materialize common objectives and goals in the face of new challenges and others that arise.
Cuba joined the EAEU as an Observer State on December 11, 2020.
