On his second day in France, Voltaire -who traveled accompanied by the head of the Ministry of Foreign and Religious Affairs, Jean-Victor Harvel- is scheduled to meet with the head of state, Emmanuel Macron, according to a brief note from the Foreign Ministry.
The head of Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council arrived in Paris, following a visit to the Vatican, and meeting with His Holiness, Pope Francis.
Voltaire was received on Monday by the Supreme Pontiff at the Apostolic Palace, where he also spoke with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The crisis in Haiti, the possible solutions to face it and the strengthening of the ties between the Holy See and Haiti were at the center of the conversation. His Holiness presented a bronze bas-relief entitled: “Dialogue between Generations”, volumes of papal documents and this year’s Message for Peace.
He also gave Voltaire the book on the Statio Orbis of March 27, 2020 published by the Vatican Bookshop, and the volume on the apartment of the Papal Audience, prepared by the Prefecture of the Papal Household.
Voltaire, for his part, gave him a series of photographic volumes on Haiti.
