At the event, held at the Embassy of the island in this capital, young Timorese who are students of the Cuban Medical School here, recited poems by Martí and were projected allegorical songs to the commemoration.
The Cuban ambassador, Alina Aldama, affirmed that the ideology of José Martí is present in the work of the Revolution, in the permanent march of the Cuban people in defense of self-determination and national sovereignty, following the ideals of Fidel, Raúl, and Che, under the leadership of President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The attendees called on the international community to demand once again the end of the genocidal policy of blockade of the United States government and for Washington to remove Cuba from the spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The event was attended by the ambassadors of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, Boibat Malaínin Boibuat; of Angola, José Andrade de Lemus; of East Timor in London, Joao Paulo da Costa Rangel and directors of the Friendship Association with Cuba.
