We call on the international community, the United Nations, and brotherly and friendly countries to put pressure on Israel to withdraw from Syrian territory, Al-Shaybani told reporters.
The foreign minister expressed Damascus’ commitment to the 1974 agreement, which provides for the deployment of separation forces between Syrian territory and the Israeli border, and pointed out that in this way, both sides can maintain security under international supervision.
“We are sending messages that Syria will not be a source of threat to any country, including Israel, and just as Tel Aviv wants to preserve its security, it must not harm other nations’ security,” he argued.
Al-Shaybani explained that the Israeli forces have attacked Syria in the last few years, under the pretext of the presence of Hezbollah and Iranian militias.
