According to that agency, there are 354 territories with warnings for the possible occurrence of fires in the vegetation cover, of which 104 are on yellow alert (low), 74 are on orange alert (moderate) and 176 are on red alert (high).
Santander, with 35, is the department with the most municipalities under the highest threat of forest fires, followed by Cundinamarca with 33 localities on red alert, Boyacá with 27, and Meta with 21.
Although most of the municipalities under the three alerts (yellow, orange, and red) are located in the Andean region, where there are 225 under threat, the highest risk of vegetation fires is concentrated in the Orinoquia and Amazon regions, according to Ideam.
At least two large-scale disasters have already been recorded in the country.
