Maldives calls on Israel to pay reparations for Gaza destruction

Malé, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu joined the statements of South Asian governments such as India and Pakistan, which expressed their satisfaction with the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and called on Israel to pay reparations to the Palestinian territories devastated by the Israeli aggression, which has caused more than 46,000 deaths.

In a post on social media celebrating the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the president also urged the international community to provide urgent support for the reconstruction of the Palestinian areas, devastated by Zionist forces, mainly Gaza, in addition to expressing gratitude to all the countries that facilitated the truce.

Muizzu urged the international community to support the continuation of the ceasefire and to allow access to humanitarian assistance and the return of displaced people to their homes.

The agreement came 15 months after the resumption of the Israeli offensive in Gaza, which has so far caused more than 46,000 deaths and 109,000 injuries and devastated the Gaza Strip.
