“This unjust designation should never have been implemented on the Cuban people,” states the press release sent to Prensa Latina.
The text adds that although this step is positive, it must include the immediate lifting of the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on that country for more than 60 years.
The solidarity activists warn that this series of reprisals has deeply affected the development of the Cuban people, whereby the international community has repeatedly rejected it.
“Cuba has always been a victim of terrorism and not a promoter, and has demonstrated its commitment to peace and solidarity in all world regions,” the text states.
The document affirms that Bolivia demands that the United States fully respect the principles of the United Nations Charter, the cessation of political and economic harassment against Cuba, and the end of all unilateral sanctions that violate the people’s sovereignty.
