In a report published on its front page, KPL highlights the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX)’s stance, which described the decision as limited, but in the right direction and in line with the world demand expressed by almost all countries in different forums.
After Cuba’s exclusion from that unilateral list was announced on Tuesday, the MINREX thanked the support of several governments, especially those of Latin America and the Caribbean; Cuban residents abroad; political, religious, and social organizations; and political figures from the United States and other countries.
This decision ends specific coercive measures that, along with many others, caused severe damage to the Cuban economy, with serious consequences for the population.
However, the economic blockade and many of the coercive measures that entered into force in 2017, to reinforce it are still in place, with full extraterritorial effect and in violation of International Law and the human rights of all Cubans, the official note underscored.
