Solidarity in Chile welcomes Cuba’s removal from terrorist list

Santiago, Jan 15 (Prensa Latina) The Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Chile welcomed the decision of the United States to remove the Caribbean country from the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list and also demanded an end to the blockade.

A statement released Wednesday by the organization highlights the repeal of financial measures contained in Title III of the Helms-Burton law, so controversial and harmful to the Cuban people.

We know that this is a step forward for international solidarity, however, the main demand remains the end of the criminal blockade of more than 60 years, which daily challenges millions of inhabitants on the island and is a threat to development, the text says.

Remember that year after year in the UN the vast majority of countries have voted for the end of this economic, commercial, and financial blockade on the Caribbean nation.

The Allendist Movement in Chile welcomed Washington’s decision to remove Cuba from the unilateral list.

The organization denounced that the Cuban Revolution is the object of permanent aggression from the United States.

Cuba thanked the broad, emphatic, and repeated call of numerous governments, political, religious, and social organizations, Cubans living abroad, and political figures in the United States and other countries to exclude it from this spurious list.
