According to the protection organization, the body of an elderly woman was found on Monday afternoon trapped in a fence, on the banks of a stream.
The corpse had signs of drowning and there are also indications that the woman tried to cross the river and was swept away by the current.
Minas Gerais has 63 cities in an abnormal situation.
Such a number includes municipalities in a state of public disaster or emergency situation, according to the bulletin published Wednesday by the state Civil Defense.
Since the beginning of the rainy period, on September 27, the territory has 354 people in need of public shelter, 3,270 evicted people (who had to leave their homes but were taken in by acquaintances), and 26 deaths.
The municipality most affected by the storms is Ipatinga, in the Steel Valley region, where, since last Sunday, 10 lives were reported lost.
In total, 130 people were left homeless and 400 evicted.
