A statement, to which the Feminist Collective Libertadora of Uruguay adheres, greets the people of Venezuela, “who after an entire electoral process, swore in peace, with joy and commitment on January 10th, together with their president Nicolas Maduro.” The statement “recognizes the right of Venezuelans to continue building in peace the future that they chose by a clear majority despite the blockade that the empire raised against them.”
The organization describes the actions against the Venezuelan government as “fascist attempts,” which violate peace through a media war.
Venezuela has become the regional geopolitical center of the anti-imperialist battle in defense of peace and therefore of the peoples of the Great Homeland, the declaration emphasizes.
The Network of Intellectuals calls for an end to the blockade actions against Venezuela and reiterates its position in favor of a Latin America as a region of peace, as it was proclaimed at the presidential summit held in Havana in January 2014.
