Commenting on the Security Council’s reform, the Russian foreign minister indicated that Japan and Germany dare not speak when Washington endangers their interests.
According to Lavrov, the United States wants these two countries to become the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) permanent members.
The diplomat pointed out that those states follow the US footsteps. Among their leading candidates for permanent membership in the Security Council are Germany and Japan, countries that have no independent say in global politics, he noted.
Lavrov held a press briefing, at the Russian Foreign Ministry’s department of information and press in Moscow, on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2024.
