Dialogue on gender and anti-racism continues in Havana

Havana, Jan 14 (Prensa Latina) Women and Gender Encounter, "Clara Rodés in Memoriam", continues at the Martin Luther King Memorial Center in Havana devoted to black people's heritage in Cuba's history.

The meeting, which began on Monday and will run until next Friday, aims to move towards anti-racism and gender justice, from the biblical, theological, and pastoral reflection, to contribute to the emancipation of the people in communities.

Members of the Center, accompanied by persons from the Popular Educators Network from the three regions of the country and the Ecumenical Network Faith for Cuba aim to awaken anti-racial awareness and gender justice by reflecting on the practices of the participants.

In addition to rescuing biblical, theological, and pastoral budgets for anti-racial and gender justice awareness, the workshop targets sharing experiences of the anti-racial struggle in Cuba today, as examples of good practices.

As expectations, the group placed “recognizing each other and learning to look at each other from different forms of struggle.”

It also seeks “to acquire tools to make racism visible and find alternatives to tell and tell us from diversities.”

It is a space to discover, talk, and act on the community and grassroots commitment under the theme: “Antiracism and Gender Justice: Raising Awareness from the Community” jrr/arm/mem/ot
