Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun acknowledged that under the strategic leadership of the heads of State from both countries, they have managed guiding principles for bilateral relations and revived more than 20 communication mechanisms.
The spokesperson stated that these measures have facilitated dialogue and cooperation in several fields and achieved some progress.
“China has steadfastly defended its principles and safeguarded its sovereignty, security, and development interests, while resolutely responding to the US erroneous actions,” he stressed.
The spokesperson also recalled that during the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart, Joe Biden, in Lima, the capital of Peru, the two leaders reflected on seven key points that have characterized the bilateral interaction over the last four years.
In the search for stability, the Beijing-Washington relations have been marked by contradictions.
