In statements to the press at the headquarters of the Public Ministry, the attorney also informed that investigations have been opened and a red alert (search and capture) has been issued before the International Police against López, whom he described as a repeat offender.
Saab noted that this citizen is also accused of treason, conspiracy and association with organized crime.
López joined the statements made on Friday by former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe to promote an armed intervention in Venezuela.
On X, the fugitive from Venezuelan justice and resident abroad (Spain), asked “to consider the proposal seriously.”
Saab added that he was the promoter of the riots in 2014 and 2017, which left dozens of dead and wounded among the Venezuelan people.
The head of the Public Ministry rejected the statements from Uribe (2002-2010), who asked for “an international intervention, preferably endorsed by the United Nations,” to oust the legitimate constitutional government of Nicolás Maduro.
He stated that the Prosecutor’s Office will not allow military interventions by foreign officials or national players who seek to fill the country with blood.
