The event, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary until February 28, will host the personal exhibition “Pablo y Jose. Se dice cubano” (Pablo and Jose. It is said Cuban) by artist Kamyl Bullaudy at the Provincial Center for Plastic Arts and Design in Old Havana at 17:00 hours (local time) on Tuesday, January 14.
The Wifredo Lam Center for Contemporary Art, also in Havana’s historical center, on January 16, at 11:00 hours, (local time), will host the exhibition “Jueves de la Bienal” (Thursdays of Biennial), with a series of lectures and exchanges on contemporary art.
Meanwhile, the Dedelmu project will exhibit Mapping and video art at the Malecon seaside drive and Belascoain St. at 19:00 hours (local time) next Sunday, January 19.
According to the organizers, 172 Cuban and 230 international artists from different continents are participating in the Havana Biennial under the premise of “Horizontes compartidos” (Shared Horizons).
The Biennial activities are also extended to Pinar del Rio and Matanzas provinces in western Cuba, and Holguin province, in the country’s eastern region.
