The serious accusations were filed by citizen María Corina Machado and disseminated by various national and international web portals, the institution indicated in a statement. They were related to “a citizen of her trusted team who, allegedly, was mortally wounded by the forces of order” during the demonstrations in this capital last Thursday.
The text pointed out that after the corresponding investigations, citizen Roalmi Alberto Cabeza was arrested in a well-known hotel in Greater Caracas. The source stated that after he was arrested, he said that he was in “safekeeping” by order of María Corina Machado.
It should be noted that the individual is in excellent physical and health condition, with no injuries anywhere on his body, the source added.
The press release noted that Cabeza will be presented before the justice agencies for the “crimes of criminal association and simulation of a punishable act with the objective of generating anxiety in the country.”
The Ministry for Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace reiterated its commitment to guaranteeing human rights, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, international treaties and other laws in force.
