International socialist conference held in Berlin

Berlin, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) Socialist groups and parties from around the world met at the 30th International Rosa Luxemburg Conference in Germany today to discuss imperialism and the wars caused by capitalism.

In memory of the murders of the two German socialist revolutionaries Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, the German Marxist newspaper Junge Welt organized the 30th Rosa Luxemburg Conference in Berlin.

Capitalist crises and the growing number of armed conflicts must be seen from an anti-imperialist perspective, explained actress and singer Gina Pietsch, when presenting the forum. The event was attended by delegations from Cuba, Russia, China, Vietnam, Palestine and Ghana, among other representatives.

The representatives gave speeches and held a joint demonstration against the US blockade and US imperialism.

On the Cuban side, Emilia Neurys Acuña, an official of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and deputy head of the Department of Organization and Veterinary Medicine, was present.

The official explained the historical background of the US blockade against her country and the anti-imperialist struggle that has lasted for decades, through the Cuban Revolution.

George Rashmawi, president of the Union of Palestinian Workers, Communities, Institutions and Activities in Europe, reported on the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and explained the brutality of the Israeli genocide against its people.

Kwesi Pratt, from the Socialist Movement of Ghana, referred to the growing anti-imperialist struggle against the French military presence on the African continent and also called for an end to the US blockade against Cuba.

The German journalist and writer Dietmar Dath referred to the material basis of the imperialist stage and the new trends generated by artificial intelligence. In the imperialist stage of capitalism, it is increasingly turning towards authoritarianism, he explained. In addition, the event included a youth panel with representatives of trade unions who criticized the growing militarism in society, including in educational institutions. Finally, there was a round table with representatives of parties and organisations who campaigned against militarism and arms shipments to Ukraine, as well as calling for a common struggle against imperialism.
