According to a report from the Foreign Ministry, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver praised the vote of that nation in favor of the Cuban resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the island by the United States government.
Peñalver made the statement in a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir.
“In the meeting, the state of positive political-diplomatic relations and cooperation between our countries, and coordination in international organizations and agencies were discussed,” the official notification highlights.
The Vice Minister also “recognized the contribution made by the Saudi Development Fund to projects of great social impact in Cuba, especially in the hydraulic and health sectors and the restoration of housing and socio-cultural facilities in the Historic Center of Havana.”
According to the text, the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated the will of his government to continue strengthening the exchange in economic matters, medical cooperation and other sectors.”
It adds that, as part of “his bilateral agenda, the First Vice Minister held a meeting with Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, executive president of the Saudi Development Fund.”
“The Vice Minister exchanged with Cuban health collaborators who work in the Kingdom, and with Cubans residing in that nation, where feelings of gratitude, commitment and love for the Homeland were expressed,” it specifies.
