Russian troops from the Center group took Shevchenko under control, after killing 550 troops in one day, in addition to destroying four armored vehicles and the same number of artillery pieces, the Ministry of Defense reported.

At the same time, in Kursk province, where the Ukrainian army carried out raids last summer, the Northern group annihilated 240 Ukrainian soldiers in one day, totaling 50,840 casualties in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian counterattack.

Ukrainian forces also lost 296 tanks, 224 BMP tankettes, 161 armored personnel carriers, 353 artillery pieces and 44 launch pads, including US-made Himars systems.

The government of the Russian province of Tambov reported an attack by Ukrainian drones on a residential building in the town of Katovosk, as a result of which seven people were wounded.

The action was considered an act of terrorism by the Russian Investigative Committee, which opened a criminal case against the Ukrainian Army, local television reported.

In 24 hours, Russian anti-aircraft forces shot down 85 Ukrainian drones in several regions of the country, including 31 in the Black Sea area, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
