The survey, corresponding to the fourth quarter of 2024, shows that 88 percent of those asked said that the Executive guarantees them hope, while 8.8 percent expressed the opposite.
The poll found that 82.1 percent of those interviewed believe that the Government of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) is democratic and adheres to the country’s laws, while 82.2 percent believe that it is leading the nation in the right direction.
Using the face-to-face interview technique with a universe of more than 4.705 million people, the survey also highlighted the security situation compared to the last five years, and indicated that 86.5 percent of the Nicaraguans interviewed consider the country to be safer.
Regarding the perception of the country’s main problems, 54.4 percent of those surveyed said they are economic, 19.2 percent social, while 9.2 percent considered them to be political.
In terms of the living conditions of Nicaraguans at the end of 2024, the study highlighted that 61.9 percent of those surveyed said they had improved, 26.5 said there was a tendency for improvement, while 6.4 percent said they had worsened.
Thus, 74.4 percent of those polled noted that they would not emigrate to another country, while 14.3 responded that they would leave this Central American nation.
The study also highlighted the importance that Nicaraguans grant to peace, for which they stressed the need not to put the country’s economic and social stability at risk under any circumstances.
Another issue of interest reflected in the survey is related to the construction of an interoceanic canal. In this regard, 86.3 percent of Nicaraguans stated that the country must exercise the sovereign right to build this maritime route with the support of nations that show willingness within the framework of respect.
On the other hand, the study revealed that 54.3 percent of Nicaraguans are left-wing in ideology, while 4.3 percent consider themselves right-wing, and 41.1 percent are indifferent.
The index of political predisposition towards the FSLN is 79 percent, while that of the opposition is 5.7.
