Haitian police fight gangs on several fronts

Port-au-Prince, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) The National Police of Haiti (PNH) is fighting the gangs on several fronts, with a series of operations aimed at putting an end to the actions of the bandits that terrorize the population.

“Several specialized units are committed with courage and determination in the fight against organized crime,” a PNH statement released by the digital daily Haiti Libre said.

We have made significant progress, particularly in the department of Artibonite, where control of several territories occupied by armed gangs for some time is already being regained.

The statement of the PNH is issued, after the Presidential Transitional Council of Haiti (CPT) declared war on all gangs that continue to mourn the homes of the inhabitants of the Caribbean nation.

“In 2025, we declare war on all the gangs that murder Haitian people, burn medical facilities and school infrastructure,” CPT President Leslie Voltaire said.

The CPT, the Primacy, the ministerial cabinet and all the entities of the state are against insecurity, Voltaire stressed as quoted by the daily Le Nouvelliste.
