Speaking at a cultural event at the National Museum, the head of government emphasized that the commitment to UN Resolution 1701 is not only Lebanon’s responsibility, but also binding on Israel.
“We have sent a clear message to the international sponsors of the ceasefire, demanding an end to Israeli violations and complete withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories,” he stressed.
The highest authority of the Executive warned of the continuation of Israeli violations that threaten the entire ceasefire agreement, in force since November 27.
According to Mikati, it is important to translate international commitments into actions to guarantee the stability of the country and the region.
In the Prime Minister’s assessment, Lebanon is living with the hope of overcoming the current crises through cooperation and joint work.
He indicated that the next stage requires the election of a new president for the Republic with the aim of organizing political life and rebuilding institutions.
“We were able to face the difficulties together and work hand in hand to overcome the crises. With this hope, I call on everyone to join efforts for a better future for Lebanon,” he sentenced.
