Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Major General Lazaro Alberto Alvarez, head of the Interior Ministry (MININT), also attended the ceremony at the PNR’s Patrol Brigade, the Presidency of the Republic wrote in a post on X.
The PNR was founded on January 5, 1959, at the initiative of then Commander Raul Castro, head of the “Frank Pais Garcia” Second Eastern Front.
The PNR’s mission is to preserve public order, tranquility, and road safety.
