This was stated by the Caribbean country’s foreign minister, Bruno Rodríguez, on the social network X, who stressed that his country will always be on the side of peace, justice and respect for the United Nations Charter.
According to an official note from the Vatican News newspaper, the pontiff made an appeal yesterday to the international community to act firmly and respect international humanitarian law.
After concluding the Angelus prayer, from the window of his study in the Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis told the thousands of faithful gathered: “Let us not forget that war is always a defeat, always.”
He also asked them not to stop praying for peace in countries affected by violence and tensions or in the midst of complex situations.
