Xi stressed that the bilateral relations have maintained a steady development for more than half a century, regardless of changes in the international scenario.
“China and Botswana have always been good friends, based on mutual respect and cooperation, and have always moved forward as good partners in development,” he said.
The Chinese president added that he is confident that, with joint efforts, bilateral relations will continue to grow and prosper and new horizons of cooperation will be opened.
Xi also underscored that 2025 marks the opening year for the outcomes of the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, and voiced his willingness to work together to further consolidate political mutual trust, support each other’s interests, and jointly advance modernization.
“We are ready to open a new chapter in China-Botswana strategic partnership relations,” Xi added.
Duma Boko, in turn, stated that the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries is an important milestone in bilateral history.
