In his Telegram account, the dignitary affirmed that “this is our clear position against foreign imperialist interventionism and the extremist fascist right.”

On January 10, the Venezuelan president will be sworn in before the National Assembly (parliament) for the 2025-2031 term, having been re-elected on 28 July with 51.95 per cent of the vote.

His closest rival was Edmundo González of the opposition Democratic Unity Platform, who won 43.18 per cent of the vote, according to results released by the National Electoral Council.

“We will see each other in the streets, on the corners and in the neighbourhoods, in a perfect fusion between the people, the military and the police,” Maduro wrote.

In another message on the same social media, the president said that Venezuela “has become the place where the future of the revolutionary movements of the world will be decided.”

He explained that he had given a message of conscience, of vigilance, and “I am convinced that it is in the minds of all men and women in all countries.”

“We have a powerful voice to make proposals for new models of egalitarian development for greater social happiness,” he concluded.
