In a statement, the institution specified that such conditions are due to the entry of cold front number 21 and the second winter storm of the season.
According to the National Water Commission (Conagua), this meteorological system will cause an increase in the probability of rain tomorrow and Tuesday in the east and southeast of the country.
Likewise, it will generate a northerly event with gusts of wind of 70 to 90 kilometers/h on the coasts of the states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz, as well as the isthmus and gulf of Tehuantepec, and a marked drop in temperatures in entities in the north, northeast and east of the territory.
Experts also predict possible precipitation in the form of rain, snow, sleet or freezing rain in the states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa (northeast), Zacatecas, Coahuila and Nuevo León.
Given these conditions, Civil Protection recommended implementing measures such as dressing appropriately with several layers of clothing; avoiding sudden changes in temperature, and checking and securing doors, windows and roofs to minimize cold air currents.
