Through the social network X, the president sent a hug to the combatants of the PNR, born – he said – of the Rebel Army and trained in 66 years of fighting crime and defending the citizen peace.
Its history is the history of the Cuban Revolution, of its challenges and victories, the president added.
Prime Minister Manuel Marrero also expressed his recognition to the work of those who are part of the institution, whom he described as ‘heroes in blue’ and guardians of internal order and citizen security.
The PNR was created on January 5, 1959, at the initiative of then Commander Raúl Castro, chief of the Second Eastern Front Frank País García.
Its fundamental mission is currently focused on the preservation of public order, public peace and road safety.
