However, the official clarified, that unprecedented outbreaks of dengue have been reported at a regional level, with co-circulation of the four serotypes, which is why it is encouraged not to lower the guard, to insist on the timely notification of cases and to reinforce prevention and vector control actions.

For this reason, he recommended taking precautions given the vacation season, which implies a significant movement of people inside and outside the country.

Regarding the epidemiological situation, he detailed that, so far, Concepción and Alto Paraguay are the departments with active outbreaks of the disease, in which the DENV-2 serotype predominates, as in the previous epidemic.
