He congratulated the creation of this place in the Foreign Affairs College and stressed that “building a community of shared future for humanity” is a central concept in President Xi Jinping’s diplomatic thinking.
“This idea answers the key questions of our time: what kind of world to build and how to build it,” he added.
The minister stressed that the concept, which started as a proposal, has become a global consensus and a concrete practice, bringing about positive changes in the international landscape.
“Dozens of countries and regions are working with China on various forms of communities of shared destiny. This concept has been included in UN General Assembly resolutions and multilateral documents, and has been consolidated as a global public good of great significance,” he added.
According to Wang Yi, the centre has several goals, including deepening theoretical research on Xi’s diplomatic thought and strengthening the theoretical system of Chinese diplomacy.
He also advocated problem-oriented research on current issues and policy recommendations for community building.
Other goals include strengthening international communication, training new talents, promoting academic research, advising on policy formulation, disseminating China’s diplomatic vision, and training international relations professionals.
