According to the local government, Valdés Mesa began his tour of the Pequeños Anfitriones children’s home, in the municipality of Boyeros, which has an enrollment of 32 children: 13 boys and 19 girls, as explained by Yailín Díaz, its director.
The facility, inaugurated on June 14, 2024, mostly serves children of workers who belong to the aviation service and are accepted into this center since they are one year of age. The delegation then arrived at Terminal 3 of the José Martí Airport, where an enlargement of the arrivals hall is being carried out and must be inaugurated before January 28.
In addition, four flatbed buses were added for the internal movement of travelers and 15 articulated buses for the transportation of workers. Accompanied by authorities from the Communist Party of Cuba and the provincial government, Valdés Mesa also visited the Comandante Doctor Eduardo Bernabé Ordaz Ducungé Psychiatric Hospital. In the Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez ward, specialized in addictions, patients and workers recounted their experiences and life stories, and explained the work done there to restore the health and hope to the patients.
