In response to a question from Prensa Latina, the Foreign Ministry spokesman’s office further stressed that the Cuban Revolution ‘won independence and freedom for the Cuban people’.
‘In the last 66 years, under the Cuban party and government’s firm leadership, the Cuban people have resolutely carried out their just struggle against foreign interference and blockades, and have demonstrated the revolutionary spirit of defying power and daring to fight,’ he added.
In addition, the message conveys best wishes for the New Year and highlights the special relationship between the two countries, described as ‘good friends, good comrades, and good brothers’, who will celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2025.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that in these more than six decades, under the strategic guidance of the Heads of State, ‘China-Cuba relations have always gone hand in hand and supported each other through international storms and changes, and have become a model of solidarity and cooperation of socialist countries and sincere mutual assistance among developing countries’.
