The National Institute of Statistics (INE) informed this increase was pushed by the positive impact of two of the three sectors comprised in the figure.

Mining production showed an annual increase of 2.2 points, owing to greater activity in metal mining due to an increase in the extraction and processing of copper.

Manufacturing production also had an impact on the rise, with an increase of 0.6, mainly in the manufacture of paper and its derivatives.

On the contrary, the Electricity, Gas and Water Production Index dropped 0.7 percent compared to November 2023, due to reductions in two of the three activities that make it up.

Electricity fell by 0.9%, following a drop in generation and distribution, especially to the commercial sector; and gas fell by 7.3% due to lower deliveries to the industrial sector.
