The delegation from Kiev was welcomed at the People’s Palace by the leader of the new administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and the head of the Syrian intelligence service, Anas Khattab.
Speaking at a press conference, the Syrian foreign minister said that his country’s authorities intend to establish a strategic partnership between Syria and Ukraine at all levels.
There will be strategic partnerships between us and Ukraine at the political, economic, social and also scientific levels, Al-Shaibani said.
He assured that Syria welcomes all Arab and foreign delegations, as it begins to establish new relations.
In turn, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s commitment to help Syria face humanitarian and economic challenges.
Kiev will send in less than 24 hours more than 20 trucks of wheat to Syria within the framework of the humanitarian aid program ‘Grains of Ukraine’, he revealed.
Sepiga expressed his country’s aspiration to cooperate with the new Syrian administration in various fields to support the process of reconstruction and development of the country.
