That body also elaborated the government’s annual work system and received indications from the president to increase the unity of action and the participation of citizens in decisions, according to the Presidency’s official website.
The publication also stated that the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (CC-PCC) urged the executive that ‘in everything we do, the first thing to think about is how the people are going to participate… because in that commitment and participation is an important basis for unity’, he said.
In what constituted the last meeting of 2024, the Council of Ministers ratified as a priority the program of Government measures to correct distortions and re-drive the economy, which was sanctioned at the end of 2023 by the National Assembly (parliament) and is systematically checked.
The Head of State called to pay special attention to the control of what is established in the governmental plan, which is related to the recently approved plan of the economy and the State budget, he explained.
He also stated that it is necessary to find the potentialities of the productive sectors of the Antillean island and to make analyses that interrelate the behavior of the economic indicators, he said.
In turn, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero detailed the lines of action of the Government’s Projections for the stage and explained its articulation, also, with the National Plan for Economic and Social Development until 2030, and the agreements adopted in the CC-PCC leadership bodies.
Marrero instructed his cabinet ministers to take these documents as the guiding thread of the work ‘because they are issues that are not alien to any sector and any activity’ of the economic, political and social life of the nation.
In the governmental body, it also reviewed the behavior in 2024 of legality in territorial planning, a matter in which progress was noted in the reduction of transgressions to the norms by natural persons.
The Council of Ministers also discussed the comprehensive strategy for the prevention and attention to gender and family violence, and the confrontation of manifestations of racial discrimination, issues that reveal the island’s position of rejection of these social scourges.
