La Paz, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian capital remains in a state of emergency and red alert on Sunday, as precaution against the rainy season, following the approval of a territorial law by the Municipal Council of La Paz.

The legislative institution stated that the preventive regulation was supported by the councilors’ unanimous vote.

Councilor Javier Escalier noted that “with the extension of the state of emergency, we reaffirm our commitment to act quickly and effectively in light of any disaster that may occur. La Paz cannot be left unprotected faced with the rains that are already affecting our population.”

The municipal rule approves Executive Resolution 1082/2024, issued by La Paz’s Mayor Ivan Arias, which establishes the extension of the state of emergency (red alert, the highest on the danger scale) in the La Paz municipality.

Councillor Oscar Sogliano, president of the Planning and Territorial Management Commission, in turn, stressed the need to activate economic and logistical resources to face the rainy season.
