The systematic dismantling of the health system in the Strip is a death sentence for Palestinians who need health care, the organization stressed in a statement. “This horror must end and health care must be protected. Ceasefire!” it demanded.
The WHO denounced the systematic Israeli incursions against hospitals in the territory, the latest of which damaged the Kamal Adwan medical complex, located in the north of the Strip, which was raided on Friday by the Israeli army. Numerous people, including workers, sick people and companions, were arrested and many were forced to leave the premises.
The raid came after restrictions on access by our staff and their partners were tightened, WHO said, noting that since October, when the Israeli army launched a ground operation in northern Gaza, attacks against hospitals there have increased. Such actions bury “all our efforts and support to keep the facilities in minimum working condition,” it said.
