During a meeting to evaluate its work in 2024, the organization also expressed its rejection of the United States economic blockade against the Caribbean country and its inclusion in the list of States sponsoring terrorism, drawn up by the White House. For the president of the Association, Sveto Dobrijević, one of the most notable actions of the year was the collection of signatures from intellectuals, professors, artists, lawyers, parliamentarians and politicians of Serbia, in support of the international campaign to condemn the classification of Cuba as a terrorist country.
He also highlighted the support “in the publication of the book of aphorisms of José Martí by Professor Ana Kratovac, presented at the Cuban stand at the Belgrade International Book Fair.”
He also praised the sculptor “Milan Klickovic, creator of the Bust of José Martí unveiled at the Embassy in the presence of the Minister of Culture of Cuba, Alpidio Alonso Grau.”
The Association, he pointed out, participated in several other activities, including “the promotion of culture and tourism to Cuba and in the programs of the Media Platform Europe for Cuba.”
The meeting was attended by representatives of other organizations of friendship with the Caribbean country and members of the diplomatic mission.
The Cuban ambassador Leyde Ernesto Rodríguez “thanked the association for its declaration in support of the march of the combatant people on December 20” and all its efforts to support the Cuban people.
