On his X profile, the Cuban head of State recalled that in 2006, Singh honored this Caribbean nation with his visit during the 14th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, an occasion on which he met with the leaders of the Revolution.
The former Indian Prime Minister died on Thursday at the age of 92.
An economist by profession, Singh served as prime minister from 2004 to 2014.
He is widely regarded as one of those responsible for the transformation of the Indian economy and the architect of its subsequent economic growth, thanks to the measures that he implemented in the 1990s, when he served as finance minister.
Born in the West Punjab region (now Pakistan) in 1932, Singh was part of the historic Congress Party (INC) of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty throughout his political career, being the last member of this party to serve as prime minister.
