The resolution was shared by the Permanent Committee for the Defense of Human Rights of Guayaquil, organization that accompanies the family of the minors.
According to the ruling of the international organization, the Ecuadorian State must comply with a series of measures until January 7, 2025.
Among them, it must urgently establish a comprehensive strategy that includes a plan of action and a timetable for the immediate search for the minors and for the exhaustive and impartial investigation.
It should also ensure that such a strategy meets the requirements of due diligence at every stage of the search process, including informality, immediacy and thoroughness of the investigation.
The Committee demands that the strategy adopted explore all existing investigative hypotheses in the case, including the possibility that the facts in question constitute an enforced disappearance due to the alleged involvement of state agents.
