In a meeting held the day before in Brazzaville, the leaders discussed issues of common interest, particularly related to the economy, climate, and the security situation in the subregion, particularly in eastern DRC.
The two countries have several joint projects, but the bridge, road, and railway over the Congo River are fundamental to the development of the sister nations.
In this regard, Tshisekedi welcomed the progress of the feasibility studies and said that this project is important for relations between the two countries and regional and African integration.
Regarding the instability in the subregion, President Sassou-N’guesso welcomed the mediation efforts of his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, to find a favorable solution to the security crisis in eastern DRC, within the context of the Luanda Process.
