The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro, and the head of State led the mass mobilization.
Morejón, who represents Consolación del Sur municipality, in western Pinar del Río province, considers that “it is more than important, essential at present to hold this march of reaffirmation of the Cuban people.”
Personally, it is a privilege to participate just when the 102nd anniversary of the University Students Federation (FEU) is being celebrated, he told Prensa Latina. He was the national president of that organization from 2022 to 2024.
It is also special, because I am marching after the conclusion of the 4th Ordinary Session of Parliament, in its 10th Legislature, together with the rest of the representatives of the Cuban people, he commented.
For the 24-year-old delegate, marching in front of the Embassy of the United States in Havana is an occasion to worthily express the clamor of his generation.
As a young person, representing many Cubans, I have the opportunity to reaffirm that despite obstacles, pressure from the US Government, we defend Cuba’s right to freedom, independence and self-determination, he pointed out.
He went on to say that Cuba is prepared to resist the hostility of the US Government, “which must be sharpened after Donald Trump officially assumes the presidency on January 20 of next year.”
We march with the certainty that we are right when we defend all our rights as individuals and as a nation, he stressed.
We are the representation of the people, we are the people, and we defend the society that the majority of Cubans want to build, with the sure guidance of the Communist Party of Cuba and the revolutionary government, under the leadership of Miguel Díaz-Canel, he added.
“It is an important moment to ratify something that is mentioned in the Declaration issued by the International Affairs Commission of the National Assembly, of which I am a member: from the spaces and our platforms, we defend the just causes of the world, such as that of the people of Palestine,” he noted.
It is a time to express our solidarity and to declare that we are against all types of genocide or fascism and, from our Cuban identity, to express that today, tomorrow and always the Cuban people shall overcome, he stated.
