Russian cosmonauts complete spacewalk

Moscow, Dic 20 (Prensa Latina) Russian cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner closed the hatch of the Poisk module, thus completing their spacewalk, the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) announced.

According to the communication of the entity, both specialists went into outer space at 18:36, local time, and were expected to spend six hours and 43 minutes outside the International Space Station (ISS), but finally they were seven hours and 17 minutes.

During the spacewalk, the cosmonauts installed the SPIN-X1-MVN spectrometer on the outer surface of the Zvezda service module. The device will be able to observe 84% of the celestial sphere and will help scientists to determine the number of supermassive black holes in the Universe.

In addition, Ovchinin and Wagner disassembled scientific equipment from the Poisk module, after which it entered the portable workstation of the European Robotic Arm (ERA) and tossed out of the station a stack with some of the disassembled elements, which should soon burn up in Earth’s atmosphere.
