Raúl Castro and Díaz-Canel lead march in Cuba against US blockade

Havana, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) Army General Raúl Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel led a mass mobilization against the United States blockade in this capital on Friday.

With a cantata in front of the US Embassy, the mobilization denounces Cuba’s inclusion in the State Department’s list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism, as part of Washington’s policy of maximum pressure on the Caribbean island.

Prior to the beginning of the even, the Cuban president recalled, on his X profile, revolutionary poet Rubén Martínez Villena on the 125th anniversary of his birthday.

With the impetus of that charge to kill scoundrels that you asked for, we took to the streets of Cuba and against the ignominious blockade. We honor Villena and all our martyrs, he said.

Thirty days before US Democratic President Joe Biden leaves the White House, almost all of the draconian economic coercion measures imposed by the government of Republican Donald Trump (2017-2021) against Cuba remain in force.

Faced with this reality, other top officials, together with the capital’s population, on behalf of the Cuban people, demonstrate their support for the socialist course of the revolutionary process.

They also expressed the will to defend Cuba’s right to sovereignty, self-determination and non-interference in the internal affairs of Cubans.
