Yoelkis Salazar Rivery, chief executive of the international group of tour operators and travel agencies, leader in the promotion and marketing of tourism products in Cuba, presented the award to the president of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González, at a gala held last night at the distinguished Sevilla Hotel in Havana.
The award highlights that Havanatur recognizes Prensa Latina for “its 65 years of service of information about Cuba to the world.”
Addressing the audience, Salazar noted that the Cuban tourism group has traveled a path of 46 years with the purpose of expanding the look to Cuba as a vacation destination.
He detailed that Havanatur managed to outperform the tourist movement by eight percent, which meant a growth of 10% compared to 2023.
The executive indicated that the group aims to close 2024 with an increase of 14%, based on growth in markets such as the Bahamas, Chile, France, Russia, Mexico and Germany, without giving up to continue efforts to recover its shareholdings.
