The diplomat told Prensa Latina that Rodríguez’s letter conveyed the most cordial congratulations to Botchorishvili on the occasion of her appointment as Georgia’s foreign minister.
In his message, the head of Cuban diplomacy stated that the occasion was propitious to reiterate the will to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Valdés pointed out.
In 2024, Cuba and Georgia celebrated their 32nd anniversary of diplomatic relations. Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic ties with Georgia, which is located in the South Caucasus, after it ceased to be a Soviet republic in 1991.
