Cyclone Chido hit Mozambique and Malawi recently, leaving a trail of 60 dead and 230,000 wounded in total, according to statistics from the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs.

After hitting Mayotte, a French overseas territory, where it killed dozens of people and devastated homes, crops, schools and health centers, as well as livestock, the cyclone touched Madagascar and headed to ravage Mozambique and Malawi.

Most of the dead, 45, as were the injured, more than 184,000, were Mozambicans who lived in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nyassa and Nampula, in the north of the country.

Although less severe, the damage in Malawi was also substantial: 13 dead, 29 injured and more than 45,000 homeless.
