Uruguayans have positive expectations about Yamandú Orsi’s government

Montevideo, Dec 19 (Prensa Latina) Numerous Uruguayans have positive expectations regarding the government that the president-elect Yamandú Orsi will lead starting March 1, 2025.

A survey by the firm Equipos Consultores inquiered and 56 percent of those surveyed believe that the future government of the Frente Amplio will be “good” or “very good.” A third expressed intermediate judgments or abstained from giving an opinion. Nine percent considered that the performance of the next administration would be “bad” or “worst.”

Such expectations are intertwined by political alignments, according to the consulting firm.

81 percent of those who voted for Orsi in the second round on November 24 believe his mandate will be better.

Among voters in the runoff for the official candidate, Álvaro Delgado, there are reasonably positive views (34 percent believe it will be good, while 21 percent consider the opposite).

Equipos Consultores also requested about expectations compared to the current government.

Views on the future government are also positive. 47 percent of the population believes that Orsi’s result will be “better” than Lacalle Pou’s, 26 percent expect the same performance, and 19 percent predicted it will be worse.
