During a ceremony in this capital, to celebrate three years since the reestablishment of bilateral ties, Jaentschke highlighted the depth, breadth, and strengthening of ties between Managua and Beijing.
“China and Nicaragua are two geographically distant countries, but they are close ideologically and sentimentally,” said Ambassador Chen Xi, who affirmed that the will and brotherhood between the two nations overcome that distance, and are getting closer every day. “The Sandinista Front and the Government of Nicaragua have almost the same concepts as the Chinese Party and Government, which always take the people as their essence and these are ideologies that have brought us closer so that we can undertake exchanges in all spheres,” said Chen.
Presidential advisor for investment and international cooperation Laureano Ortega expressed his gratitude to the Chinese people and Government and described the extensive relations over three years, as extraordinary. “With a speed that has allowed us to advance, strengthen our relationship, which is now a strategic association, a relationship of brotherhood, a cooperation for the mutual benefit of the Nicaraguan people and the Chinese peoples”.
Nicaragua and China reestablished diplomatic relations in December 2021, and since then both nations have advocated strengthening exchanges and cooperation in all fields, especially in trade, transportation, the scientific and technical areas.
One of the most significant events in the economic sector this year was the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in January, an initiative that fosters economic cooperation between the two countries.
